Looking at eye lift before and after photos lets you see what the surgery can do for you.
Since your eyes are the windows to your soul, you must take care of them properly. However, as you age, changes in your skin’s ability to bounce back make your eyes look sunken, droopy, and baggy. Take a look at some eye lift before and after results to see what the procedure can do for you.
From getting rid of dark circles to eliminating drooping eyelids, an eye lifting surgery can do a lot of wonders for you.
But what exactly is an eye lift? What issues does the procedure solve? What do my patients say about an eye cosmetic surgery done in my clinic?
In this article, I will talk about what an eye lift is and the procedures it solves. I will also tell you what happens before and after an eye cosmetic surgery. On top of that, I will show you some patient testimonials and eye lift before and after photos.

Knowing the ins and outs of eye lift before and after procedures lets you see what to expect.
Blepharoplasty, commonly known as eyelid surgery, surgery for hooded eyes, or eye lift, is a type of surgical procedure done to improve the appearance of the lower or upper lids or both.
It involves the removal of excess skin and fat from the lids and tightening of sagging eyelids. This results in a more rejuvenated look.
Eyelid surgery has three main types. The procedure can vary depending on the shape of your eyes and your health condition. One of these types will be recommended by your plastic surgeon:
● Upper Eyelid Surgery
Upper eyelid surgery mainly focuses on the improvement of vision loss and appearance brought by aging or genetics. As the name implies, its focus is on the upper eyelid. This type of surgery restores the function of the eye or provides a more rounded, open appearance.
● Lower Eyelid Surgery
Lower eyelid surgery is a procedure primarily done on the lower eyelids. It focuses on removing under eye wrinkles, getting rid of dark circles, and improving one’s overall appearance.

An eye lifting surgery can solve droopy eyelids, eye bags, and more.
The thinnest skin on your face is on your eyelids. With that fact, it often shows signs of aging first. Some of the most common reasons for eyelid surgery are:
1. Droopy Eyelids
Also known as ptosis, droopy eyelids are a skin sagging condition that may occur due to trauma, age, or other medical disorders.
A condition called unilateral ptosis occurs when one eye is affected, and bilateral ptosis when both of the eyes are impacted.
This condition may be temporary or permanent. It’s known as congenital ptosis when it’s present at birth. While it is known as acquired ptosis if you develop it later in life.
Patient conditions can vary in terms of severity. Normally, this condition can be treated, either naturally or with the aid of medical intervention.
2. Baggy Eyes
Also known as dermatochalasis, baggy eyes are a condition where redundancy and laxity of the eyelid skin and muscles occur. Elderly people usually suffer from this. However, young adults occasionally suffer from baggy eyes.
Some of the factors that may cause this condition include gravity, loss of elastic tissue in the skin, and weakening of the eyelid connective tissues. Additionally, this condition frequently involves the upper lids.
3. Under Eye Wrinkles
Skin loses its elasticity over time that can cause skin aging. The most common result of this is eye wrinkles. Additionally, the skin around the eyes is the thinnest in the face. As a result, the area becomes more prone to fine lines and wrinkles.
Nevertheless, eye wrinkles can be treated with various cosmetic procedures. These treatments can be surgical or non-surgical.
4. Dark Circles
Dark circles are a condition wherein the skin around the eyes has a darker tone than the rest of your face.
Although often linked with bruising or redness, dark circles last longer than those. There are times when dark circles are less noticeable, but there are also times where they are very evident on the face. Dark circles are also mostly caused by stress and exhaustion.
5. Eye Bags
Bags under the eyes are typically a cosmetic concern. Eye bags are usually not a medical concern.
Medical and surgical treatments are an option if the swelling of the eye bags becomes highly concerning.

You need to consult a reputable eyelid surgeon before getting the surgery.
Before eyelid surgery, you might be asked to do the following:

You will be under anaesthesia during an eye lifting surgery.
An eye lift procedure generally takes two hours to complete if both of the lower and upper eyelids are done. However, the duration will be longer if you have to go under other procedures such as facelift and neck lift.
First of all, you will be put under anaesthesia. My clinic uses sedation anaesthesia because it is safer than general anaesthesia.
If you are having all four eyelids done, I will work on the upper eyelids first. I will cut along the natural lines of your eyelids.
Through these cuts, I will separate the skin from the underlying tissue and remove any excess fat and skin.
Next, I will close the incision using very small stitches. The stitches on the upper eyelids will stay for at least three to seven days.
Another method that can be used in the procedure involves making an incision along the eyelash margin. Through that cut, I can remove excess skin, loose muscle, and fat. This type of incision fades after a short time.

You will need to place ice packs or pads on your eyes after an eye cosmetic surgery.
You might have blurry vision and sensitivity after the surgery. Your eyes may also feel either dry or watery.
Placing ice packs on your eyes and sleeping with your head raised after the surgery should also be very helpful. Additionally, I will give you detailed instructions for your post-operative care.

You need to follow certain post-operative care guidelines after an eye lifting surgery.
Here are some post-operative guidelines you need to follow:

Eye lift before and after patient testimonials help determine the reputation of a certain cosmetic surgeon.
“I am male, mid-50s, and I underwent combined upper and lower eyelid surgery in August. Prior to this, I had done a lot of research to find Dr. De Silva, discovering that he was something of a facial cosmetic surgery “go-to” expert for the media, alongside an impeccable medical and academic background – he is clearly a thought leader in his field.
My experience mirrored many others here. The whole team is ultra-professional but also very personable with it, which made for a relaxed process from my original inquiry through to the post-procedure support I received. I never had any doubt that I was being carefully (but not intrusively) monitored throughout the period.
The pleasant environment of the surgery itself in Harley Street and the state-of-the-art equipment suggest that no expense is spared in providing the very best experience and outcome, but it is the attitude of the team themselves that particularly stands out – Dr. De Silva himself, and his anesthetist and nurses were so genuinely kind and helpful.
Ultimately, of course, the surgical result is the most important thing, and Dr. De Silva delivered exactly what we had discussed – the optimum result and exceeding my expectations. I am delighted!
Beyond the medical safety factors, Dr. De Silva has unique artistry and precision in his work which, I assume, are the differentiating factors that identify him as one of the very best surgeons in the world. Dr. De Silva is exceptional and a wise choice.”
